Book Review: Bitter Blood

                    Today's review is on Bitter Blood by Rachel Caine

It takes a really special book to bring a tear to my eyes, but I have to say that most, if not all, of the Morganville Vampires books have done just that. They seem to grab a hold of my heartstrings at one point or another as I'm reading. And how many book series that are at the #13 mark can do that? Not many. Only a skilled and talented writer can pull it off. And believe you me, I have read a lot of series that fizzle out long before even hitting the #10 mark.

The Draug have been defeated, and you would think that everything would go back to normal, or at least Morganville normal, but that's NOT the case. Unknown to everyone, Amelie's blood sister Naomi did not die. She was hell bent on becoming the "Queen" of the town in the last book, and now she'll do ANYTHING she has to do to achieve that goal. But she has no allies in Morganville, or does she?

Using her "gift" against the new Mayor, one of Oliver's vampires, and Oliver himself, she set's in motion her plan to not only destroy Amelie, but to also get rid of Myrnin and destroy the relationships of our four hero's.

The danger in Morganville is something the human residents have come to expect, but when a group of ghost hunting humans start poking around, it just gets worse. Especially when the ghosts themselves come out in the open and reveal themselves.

I really hope that there is at least another installment in this series. I didn't much like the ending of this one. It didn't leave me hanging on the edge of the cliff this time, but it did leave me wanting to know "What happens next?"
